Due to unforeseen circumstances, the NSC Softball Showcase that was to be held on Sunday, June 11th at Johnston High School, has been postponed.  More information will be forthcoming but it is anticipated that we will host a Showcase sometime in the fall of 2017.

The Never Say Can’t Softball Showcase is THE opportunity for younger high school players to receive feedback from collegiate level coaches on their softball skills. High school freshmen, sophomores and juniors (as of the current 2016-2017 school year) will spend time displaying their hitting, throwing and running skills for high school and college coaches. This is a perfect chance for these younger players to receive direct feedback on what they need to do to excel at the high school and collegiate level.

The Never Say Can’t Softball Showcase will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Coaches from several regional colleges will be in attendance. (Last year, coaches from the University of Northern Iowa, Simpson College, DMACC, Indian Hills Community College, Grand View University, Central College, Minnesota State University at Mankato, Coe College, Iowa Wesleyan University, Iowa Central Community College and Marshalltown Community College were in attendance.)

The Never Say Can’t Foundation was established in memory of Spenser Nelson, a talented Johnston High School baseball player with enormous passion for the game who passed away in 2012.

Our primary goal is to further baseball and softball opportunities for youth in our community. Funds have been used for such things as expanding facilities for the Miracle League of Iowa. This year our goal is to help equip the expanded baseball and softball facilities in the Johnston schools. Click here for more information on this ambitious project.

We are currently seeking Sponsors for this year’s event. Various sponsorship packages are available.  Visit our Sponsorship page for more information.  The foundation also welcomes any and all Donations, no matter the size.  Check out our Donation page to learn how you can help.
